Pastor Phil Berge pastor@gracehermantown.org ext# 702
Pastor Phil describes his ministry as “a passion for the gospel, a love of teaching, and a heart for people.” He enjoys fishing, hunting, travel, and a good conversation.
He was born in Brooklyn, raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, and is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta and Luther Seminary. Prior to coming to Grace, Pastor Phil served a congregation in Two Harbors, MN for 20 years and before that he was a mission redevelopment pastor for 6 years in Talmoon, MN.
His wife, Susan, is also an ELCA pastor and serves a congregation in Knife River, MN. They have two children: Andrew, who is a student at the University of Minnesota CSE; and Elizabeth, who is a student at Hamline University.

Tracey Gibbens, Music Coordinator - t.gibbens@gracehermantown.org ext# 705. Tracey Gibbens has decades of experience in leading church choirs, and has been the Music Coordinator of Grace since 2000. He teaches music at the University of Wisconsin Superior, serves as president of the Duluth Musicians Association, and is a performer on low brass instruments for a variety of musical organizations. He has degrees in Music Education and Performance from the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa. He has sung with the Arrowhead Chorale since 2004. Tracey makes his home in Duluth with wife, Kerry Van Dusen, and children, Emma, Sam, and Sally.
Beth Ronning, Parish Nurse - parishnurse@gracehermantown.org ext# 713
Beth Ronning has attended the Parish Nurse training, sponsored by the Concordia College Parish Nurse Center. She has agreed to fill this unpaid staff position for our congregation. The Parish Nurse Ministry was originally developed in the mid-1980s by Reverend Granger Westber. The goals are to define our church as a place of wholistic health (physical, emotional, and spiritual) and to motivate individuals to fulfill the gospel call for healing and service.
Beth is a registered nurse and public health nurse. She also holds masters degrees in community health and exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation. Her undergraduate degree is in physical education, health education and coaching. In her free time she enjoys downhill skiing, hiking, motorcycling, hunting, fishing, reading, and playing with her nephews.
